Comprehensive Psychoeducational Evaluations

If you or your child are having difficulty with school, standardized testing, behaviors at home, or success at work, you may benefit from a comprehensive psychoeducational evaluation.

The standard evaluation includes testing in the following domains: cognitive/intellectual, learning/memory, attention/executive functions, visuospatial, academic, and socioemotional. Afterward, you'll receive a report and consultation discussing any potential diagnoses, recommendations for school/testing accommodations (if applicable), and recommendations for intervention.

I specialize in the diagnosis of the following issues, among others: Attention–deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), Specific learning disorder (including dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia), autism spectrum disorder, and anxiety disorders.

While I do not take insurance, my rates are competitive for the Fairfield County area, and I provide superbills for insurance reimbursement. Note: Most health insurance plans do not reimburse for learning disorder diagnoses.

My main office is in Darien, Connecticut, but I have several satellite locations across Fairfield County. Contact me if you'd like to set up an evaluation!

A note about neuropsychological evaluations: Many clients ask what the difference is between a comprehensive psychoeducational evaluation and a neuropsychological evaluation (or "neuropsych" for short). Neuropsych evals are administered by neuropsychologists, who are specially trained and certified experts in how the brain's functioning is impacted by the neurological structures of the brain. For evaluation of the learning, behavioral, and developmental conditions listed above (ADHD, learning disorder, anxiety disorders, etc.), there is very little difference between a neuropsych evaluation and comprehensive psychoed evaluation. If your school, therapist, or psychiatrist has recommended that you receive a "neuropsych" evaluation, my services will also meet these criteria. However, if your profile includes concerns about traumatic brain injury, cerebrovascular accident, genetic or congenital disorders affecting brain development, or other complicated neurological profile, a neuropsychological evaluation is indeed your best bet. Contact me if you're not sure!
